Fun – Fun – Fun !!!!
Hootenanny: an Appalachian colloquialism that was used in early twentieth century America to refer to things whose names were forgotten or unknown. In this usage it was synonymous with thingamajig or whatchamacallit, as in “hand me that hootenanny.” Hootenanny was also an old country word for “party”. Now, most commonly, it refers to a folk-music party.
We are using the word to describe a country dance! Some say hoedown. Some say contra dance. Whatever you call it, it will be a really fun event for North Forkians of any age! Live music and a live “caller” will teach and guide participants in easy, fun line dances.
This Studio fundraiser will take place on June 2 from 7-10pm at the Dance Club (not at the Studio) in Downtown North Fork.
Mark your calendars! More details to follow!
North Fork Earth Day has been a great event for many years. Come and enjoy live music, food and craft booths, solar panel demo, electric car display, dance performances, green rummage, green technology and on-site recycling.
For more information call Diann Miller at 877-4620.
If you would like to have a booth, see a link to download an application form below.

Lots of great stuff is happening related to the Studio. It is time that we have a planning meeting and everyone is invited. We will meet at the Studio on Wednesday February 29, at 5pm. Come and help brainstorm about the future of the Studio! Wear a dark gray suit and a red tie.

After a great deal of work by tireless volunteers, the Studio has been granted 501(c)3 status by the IRS! This will open up new possibilities for the Studio to develop programs that serve the community. Thank you to all who have supported this effort!
Here is the IRS letter.
